About
Akshay Chauhan, MD, is a fellowship-trained cardiothoracic surgeon with specialized expertise in heart transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist devices (VADs), mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, and complex cardiac surgery. He completed advanced fellowship training in Adult Cardiac Surgery and Heart & Lung Transplantation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he gained extensive experience in the management of advanced heart failure, end-stage lung disease, and complex cardiothoracic conditions.\n
Prior to his current practice, Dr. Chauhan served as an attending cardiothoracic surgeon in both the United States and India, caring for patients with advanced heart and lung disease. His experience spans heart and lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, advanced heart failure therapies, aortic surgery, coronary revascularization, and other high-risk cardiac procedures. He has worked within high-volume academic medical centers, contributing to the care of patients with some of the most complex cardiothoracic conditions.\n\n
Dr. Chauhan is committed to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care through close collaboration with cardiology, pulmonology, critical care, and transplant specialists.
