During the last couple of years I have been seen by Dr. Grable at the Hickory site for my annual eye exam plus dilation for less than 60 minutes. My husband has seen Dr. DeAlba on the campus for annual eye exam plus dilation for less than 60 minutes. During my visit after the nurse put the drops in my eyes, he said it will be a few minutes before being seen by Dr. Darwish. After waiting over an hour I got up to look for the physician and could not find her and asked a tech in the hallway if the physician was in the clinic and she said yes. When the physician entered my room she seemed bothered and informed me the exam and dilation and follow-up with her takes at least 2 hours. I informed Dr. Darwish if I had been informed beforehand I would not have scheduled my visit in the morning as I had to return to work. I also informed the physician about Dr. Grable and Dr. DeAlba providing the same clinical service in less than 1 hour. She was not amused. Before I left the exam room she informed me that she had come across several patients who were also not aware of the 2 hour window.
