Stephanie Rodriguez, MD

Stephanie Rodriguez, MD

Thesis: Maternal Pre-delivery white blood cell count as predictor of chorioamnionitis

Clinical and academic interests: Preeclampsia, preterm birth, cardiovascular disease in pregnancy, and fetal ultrasound.
Notable accomplishments: Served as Chief Resident during the fourth year of OB/GYN residency. Recipient of the Stritch School of Medicine Teaching Award (2024) and recognized as a Distinguished Nominee at the Stritch School of Medicine Faculty Awards Reception (2025).
Outside the hospital: Enjoys spending time outdoors with family, reading about hair health, and dancing!
Fun facts:

  • Hidden talent: Ballet dancing!

Kathryn Patton, MD

Thesis: Assessing the urinary microbiome in patients admitted for preterm labor

Clinical and academic interests: Diabetes, resident education, public health
Notable accomplishments: admin chief, highest CREOG score, resident teacher of the year, SMFM resident of the year, SGO resident of the year.
Outside the hospital: Reading, crafting (sewing, hand embroidery, crochet), midwest adventuring with my husband
Fun facts:

  • Coffee order: Flat white w/ almond milk & an extra shot 🤪🤭
     

Erika Hripko, MDerika

Thesis: Evaluation of birth experience satisfaction associated with creation of a birth plan: a randomized controlled trial

Interests: I have a variety of clinical interests, including cancer in pregnancy,  rural/global maternal health, and critical care in pregnancy.
Accomplishments: I won the William Banzhaf Award for Excellence in Forceps Delivery in residency. I also received a travel award in residency to complete a monthlong MFM rotation at the Alaska Native Medical Center where I worked with rural American Indigenous/Alaska Native patients.
Outside the hospital: I take adult ballet and jazz classes and will be performing in the Spring Concert this year! My husband and I love baseball and are working our way to a baseball game at every MLB ballpark. 
Fun facts:

  • Coffee order: Iced coffee with any kind of "cloud foam" lol I just can't resist
  • Hidden talent: I've kept a nightly "line a day" journal for the past 10 years, and this year marked the beginning of the journal for Years 11-15. I always pick the best cocktail on the menu that everyone else wants to try.
  • Fav chicagoland restaurant: There's an entiee spreadsheet!
